Ian's Flemish Polo Coupé 1.0
Posté : 07 mai 10 12:26
Hello,
Let me introduce myself.. Already did it in the French section, but I'm sure it will be easier for me in English.
So, I am Ian, born in 1989 (so that makes me 20 right now, turning 21 in december) and I live in Eastern Flanders, in Belgium.
I own a 1991 Volkswagen Polo 2F Coupé Fox, with 1.0 engine. Bought it in september 2009, last year. When I bought it, it had run 74.060 km. Right now it has just passed 76.100 km.
Before that I owned a Renault Clio from 1994, for only a year. The car pretty sucked compared to the Polo, though it was faster (1.1 engine). But in winter time, the Clio was very hard to get started. It also was very basic and had a manual choke, while the 3 year older Polo has automatic choke.
The car is in pretty good condition, it used to be of an old lady, that only drove 600 km's a year in the last years she owned it. So, I'm the second owner. There's practically no rust, but the car suffered from an accident. Don't know if she hit someone or got hit. I'm guessing that she got hit since the righer back side was probably replaced, looking at the color difference. Both front and back bumpers also got crippled, so I recently bought some new (2nd hand off course) ones, along with G40 lights and some smoked blinkers.
Here's some pictures:
How it was when I bought it:

How it's now:

Borbet Atiwe 13 inch:

What to be added in the future:
- Lowering springs (probably 60/40)
- VW Golf 1 Quartet/snowflake 14"rims (during summertime, and the Borbet Atiwe's in winter time)
- Maybe a fresh Paint job on the outer side in the same blue color as it is now (Paint condition on the inside looks good, nearly as new)
Greetings from Belgium!
